First Shot Instruction
- Undergraduate students shall pay $80 for instruction leading to and
including First Shot. All others shall pay $100. (Students must
show a current ID.) The rules for "hardship cases" apply (see
below).
- For First Shot instruction, payment must be made in advance.
Payments can be made in four $20 increments for undergraduates and four
$25 increments for all others. If the First Shot student comes to class
without payment (or without prior arrangements complying with the hardship
rules), he/she cannot participate in the class. Instruction will be
rescheduled for a later time.
- After First Shot, the student automatically becomes a member of KSF
and shall begin immediately to pay regular dues as described
below. Dues will be pro-rated if First Shot is taken in the middle of
the month.
- Non-members may watch a regular KSF practice (subject to permission
in advance) without making any payment, but no one shall touch or use
equipment unless he/she has made arrangements with the head instructor
to begin First Shot instruction and also has paid the first increment
of the First Shot instruction fee.
- The First Shot instruction fees belong to KSF and shall be deposited
in the KSF bank account.
Dues from Members of KSF
- Current dues are $20 per month from each member.
- After six months membership in KSF, a member's dues shall increase
to $25 per month, unless the member owns at least one piece of personal
equipment. "Equipment" in this context is defined as ya, yumi,
or kake. The member will bring said equipment to class, or store it
with the class equipment, subject to permission.
- Undergraduate students will pay the same dues as non-students, unless
they qualify as "hardship cases" (see below).
- Dues shall be paid on or before the first class of each month.
- Dues shall be paid monthly, quarterly or annually.
- Dues must be paid to the treasurer in cash or by personal check.
- Dues cannot lapse (see "hardship cases" below).
Hardship Cases
- If a member cannot pay the next month's dues, that member must submit
his or her cause in writing to the board.
- At least three KSF board members must agree to approve the
case for relief. If the case is not approved, the member must pay regular
dues.
- Labor or other services will be specified in lieu of dues.
Dues may be a combination of money and labor, subject to approval by
three board members.
These rules were approved by the full Kyudo Society
of Florida board in 2003. |
